Method & limits
This catalog is generated directly from the files, not typed up by hand.
Every row is reproducible from the source .nav.zenc.
How each file is read
Every .nav.zenc is decoded in house to its flat flash image, then hashed and
scanned for version, vendor and emissions markers. The cal ID in each row is read out of the
binary itself, not taken from the file name.
What is measured vs. inferred
Measured - flash size, SHA-256, programmed percentage, container
format, and any version marker found as plain text in the image (for example
EDC17CV82 or MPC56x).
Looked up - engine and rated power, only where a ServiceMaxx readout has confirmed that cal ID. 107 of 2297 files carry a verified engine/HP; the rest show no engine rather than a guess.
Known limits
- Continental/Siemens ECUs print no clean engine model or software number in plain text, so some are listed as Continental/Siemens (unversioned) - the vendor is confirmed, the exact variant is not.
- 85 files carry no vendor or version marker at all and are listed as Unidentified.
- Cal IDs are also checked against the decoded image: 2281 of 2297 appear verbatim inside their own flash, which is a good integrity signal for the pairing.
Files that could not be decoded (0)
- None.
Three of these have a byte length that is not a multiple of 8, so they cannot be a complete 3DES-CBC stream - they are truncated or corrupt at source, not a decoder fault.
